Today I travelled to Eupen by train to walk in the first snow in the Hautes Fagnes national park. From Eupen, where a small layer of snow melted already, I took a bus to Ternell. This is a famous cross-country skiing starting point which lays about 550 meters above sea level. From there I walked downhill along the river Hill to Eupen. I encountered only just a few people and not much animals either but I found tracks of wild boar and red deer.
